The people
Why it matters
The second-largest indigenous territory in Brazil. The only territory with a formal signed mandate so far. Home to the largest concentration of isolated peoples in the country, communities that choose to remain outside contact with the outside world and whose protection is a fundamental duty of all.
Challenges
Protecting isolated peoples, illegal fishing and hunting, drug trafficking and lack of healthcare and communication infrastructure.
Our role
We have a long-standing relationship with the communities of Vale do Javari. Now we are renewing 25 connectivity points to upgrade the network with the communities that have been connected since 2023.
Priority project
Logistical support, river transport, fuel and equipment, for the Marubo people, enabling medical evacuation, safe travel between villages and access to services. Part of 4rest4all's Indigenous Mobility program, defined together with the Kapy Association.
